Mill has the most extensive distribution
network of any mushroom shipper in the
country. As a result of both our dedicated
fleet of modern, air-ride, refrigerated
tractor-trailers and our regionally located
distribution facilities, we access from
Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, over 35 major
metropolitan areas on an overnight basis. The
tractor fleet is outfitted with
state-of-the-art Qualcomm Satellite tracking
and communication equipment providing
dispatchers precise locations of each truck at
any time with the ability to transmit and
receive messages 24-hours a day.
Weekly
deliveries cover over 35 states utilizing
two-driver teams to ensure the shortest
possible transport time to our destinations.
South Mill trucks make deliveries 7-days a
week into New England, 6-days a week into
central and western New York, and 7-days a
week from our Pennsylvania location south into
Georgia and west through Louisiana into Texas.
South Mill trucks serve Nashville and Memphis,
Tennessee 6-days a week and our extensive
distribution network continues to grow every
year as both our portfolio of products and
customer base continue to expand.
Our
distribution facilities have a centralized
sales office and each facility is fully
staffed with experienced distribution
associates to better serve the retail,
wholesale, foodservice and processing
industries in those specific regions. In
addition to our extensive portfolio of food
products, South Mill also offers LTL service
at competitive rates. The New York,
Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Baltimore sea
and air ports of entry are located
conveniently within a 100-mile radius of our
Kennett Square, Pennsylvania location. South
Mill's transportation services assist our
customers in consolidating in-bound shipments
of produce arriving at these ports, which
results in fewer trucks and less congestion at
their individual warehouses. South Mill has
20,000 square feet of cold storage at our main
packing and distribution facility located in
Kennett Square, Pennsylvania with plans to
increase capacity to approximately 100,000
square feet. Vacuum cooling is conveniently
provided on the premises, as well as, packing,
break-bulk services, and reworking and
repacking of distressed product.
